How do I choose the right breaker for my excavator?

Consider three things: carrier size - the breaker must match your excavator's tonnage class; hydraulic flow and pressure - the carrier must supply the right pressure and flow for safe, efficient operation; application - the material being broken determines the breaker size you need. What daily maintenance does a breaker need?

During shift - check and refill the automatic lubrication system grease; grease the tool shank about every 2 hours. Daily - check and tighten the adapter plate bolts; inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks; make sure hose clamps on the carrier are secure. Requirements vary by model - always follow the manual supplied with your machine.

Can a breaker be used underwater?

Yes, but only with a dedicated underwater safety kit that uses external compressed air to keep water out of the breaker, complete with full safety equipment and a dedicated manual. Always consult the manufacturer or dealer before underwater use.

How should a breaker be stored when not in use?

A breaker must be stored upright to protect its seals. Storage falls into three categories - short-term (up to 8 weeks), long-term (over 8 weeks) and more than one year. Follow the steps in the manual and apply rust protection where required.

What is the difference between the ZSB and ZHB series?

The ZSB series (SB10 - SB151) is tuned for light-to-medium duty: high impact frequency, smooth running and low running costs, ideal for municipal work, road demolition and general construction. The ZHB series (HB5G - HB50G) uses a longer piston stroke and higher energy per blow for heavy-duty work such as quarrying, mining and reinforced-concrete demolition. As a simple guide: choose ZSB for everyday breaking jobs, and ZHB when the rock is hard and the work is heavy.

What are the differences between the Side, Top and Box housings?

All three housings share the same internal breaking mechanism - they differ in mounting structure, weight and noise level. Side Type is the standard, most economical option; Top Type offers a widely used universal mounting interface; Box Type adds an insulated shell for noticeably lower noise, a real advantage in urban or noise-restricted sites.
